A steak weight works by applying additional pressure for an even cook and consistent metal contact, allowing deep, pristine grill marks to form on the surface of the steak during the searing process.

I believe the bottom plate needs to be thicker and heavier. Also all edges need to be dressed a little bit more to reduce the sharp edges. I do like the stainless steel construction

The weight I bought was perfect for what I do. It’s also a perfect fit with my Hasy Bake Suburban!!!
