The all-new Hasty Bake Roughneck "Barrel" Smoker is finally here. Get the convenience, flavor, and temperature control of a traditional barrel smoker, without all the headaches! Showcasing the signature Kent Rollins rustic cowboy-patina, Kent calls this his "Cowboy Smoke Box." This cooker is made by hand in Tulsa, Oklahoma of heavy-duty corten steel. Corten is specially designed to surface-rust and self-seal, creating a rustic outer shell that will continue to patina without affecting the integrity of the steel. 

This functional showpiece proudly showcases high-quality welds, craftsman tooling marks, and raw ingenuity. No two cookers' finishes are exactly alike, and years of use will provide you with some cowboy cookin' stories of your own.

Stress-tested by some of the highest-ranked cooks in BBQ for over a year, this cooker has incorporated long-desired features often requested by barrel/drum-using cooks on the competition trail. The raw Corten steel eliminates the risk of powder coat burn or paint discoloration. A sizable, heavy-duty firebox holds enough coal that you'll never need to refill mid-cook.  Graduated, laser-cut vents and a slide-in heat shield give you precise heat control for every style of cooking. A large fire door allows full access to the coals for adding smoking wood, tending your fire, or effortless clean-out when the cook is done. The legendary Hasty Bake convection is achieved with our signature-shaped hood and precise vent placement, circulating heat and smoke around your meat, rather than billowing up a chimney.

      Large enough for my needs

      Filled the charcoal basket and let it run for 6 hours with B&B Lump Charcoal. Less than half was consumed at 250F. Adjusting temperature was not difficult. Took a little learning on adjusting the windows, otherwise great box.

      Kent’s Cowboy Smoke Box

      This is my first Hasty Bake Grill. I had a chance to talk a guy out of a Legacy Grill but I couldn’t convince him to sell it 3 or 4 years ago. With this Hasty Bake I now have 8 different grills. This Hasty bake is my Cadillac grill. I consider it to be my best grill yet. I favor it over my Traeger.
      Being my first Hasty Bake I realize now I should have added other supplies to my order such as an ash pan and fire gel, etc. I did order lower grates and wheels and Tel Tru thermometer which I felt were essential. It was worth the extra cost. Since the purchase of the grill I’ve placed two more orders for the essentials a person should have to really complete the setup. I kind of had to figure out what all I actually needed to get rolling with it.
      It doesn’t come with everything that really makes the best setup unless you order the additional components. Overall, I’m extremely happy with the Roughneck. It’s very well designed and constructed and it’s the type of grill that I can pass on to the younger generation whom I’m getting interested in grilling also. I’m considering purchasing a Legacy also. Future plans are for a smokehouse for cold smoking and an offset. I eventually want to compete locally in cook-offs.

      Definitely worth the money

      Definitely worth the money. I have owned many smokers and this one does the trick. We run a small catering company and we loaded this smoker with 6 brisket and whaa-laa, cooked to perfection. I called Kent for a few pointers and he lead us down the right path.
