Corten Steel Roughneck Barrel Smoker, aka "Kent's Cowboy Smoke Box"
The all-new Hasty Bake Roughneck "Barrel" Smoker is finally here. Get the convenience, flavor, and temperature control of a traditional barrel smoker, without all the headaches! Showcasing the signature Kent Rollins rustic cowboy-patina, Kent calls this his "Cowboy Smoke Box." This cooker is made by hand in Tulsa, Oklahoma of heavy-duty corten steel. Corten is specially designed to surface-rust and self-seal, creating a rustic outer shell that will continue to patina without affecting the integrity of the steel.
This functional showpiece proudly showcases high-quality welds, craftsman tooling marks, and raw ingenuity. No two cookers' finishes are exactly alike, and years of use will provide you with some cowboy cookin' stories of your own.
Stress-tested by some of the highest-ranked cooks in BBQ for over a year, this cooker has incorporated long-desired features often requested by barrel/drum-using cooks on the competition trail. The raw Corten steel eliminates the risk of powder coat burn or paint discoloration. A sizable, heavy-duty firebox holds enough coal that you'll never need to refill mid-cook. Graduated, laser-cut vents and a slide-in heat shield give you precise heat control for every style of cooking. A large fire door allows full access to the coals for adding smoking wood, tending your fire, or effortless clean-out when the cook is done. The legendary Hasty Bake convection is achieved with our signature-shaped hood and precise vent placement, circulating heat and smoke around your meat, rather than billowing up a chimney.
With just a little practice, burn times can exceed 18 hours with little to no adjustment. Step up your game with the all-new Hasty Bake Roughneck barrel smoker.

Have several cooks on it now, everything I expected. Holds temp great and lump charcoal lasts for long cooks with no needing to top off. Shipping was great and secured to pallet very well.
My first Barrel Smoker and it is incredible. First cook was a Boston Butt and it knocked it out of the park. Hard to believe how well this thing holds temp!!!!! Brisket is next and I can't wait.
Burned my baby in with duck fat with an 11 hour worthy fire box load. Took some time to get the vents tuned for a steady temp. Came by FedEx whose driver had high praise for the HB palletizing tech…. He was immediately wary it might be a shifting load when he saw it was on wheels. First smoke for me was pork belly with apple wood and brown sugar/apple cider vinegar spritz. She is my fifth lifetime Hasty Bake … first in the family was a coffin top in 1955. Maryland humidity had her weathering in by day two! A big advantage of Cor-Ten is that none but the most respectable thief would think to run off with her!
Had an older CharGriller side smoker and the Kent smoker is quite advanced comparably. Everything seems very sturdy and well built. Delivered on a pallet and secure. Only complaint, the links for setting up took me to other grills offered but NOT the Roughneck. Had to figure everything out on my own. Not too hard, but for over $1200, better directions would be neat?
My "Kent's Cowboy Smoke Box" arrived in perfect condition, and impressed the hell out of me. What a beautiful smoker, love all the features of this smoker, pull out fire box, wheels, grates and the hanging mechanism. Doing the burn in and seasoning I played with temperature control and this smoker held temp like a charm. No leaking smoke anywhere either. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. All this from a guy who has been smoking meat over forty years! Thank You HB!
