Stress-tested by some of the highest-ranked cooks in BBQ for over a year, this cooker has incorporated long-desired features often requested by barrel/drum-using cooks on the competition trail. A sizable, heavy-duty firebox holds enough coal so you'll hardly ever need to refill mid-cook. A large fire door allows full access to the coals for adding smoking wood, tending your fire, or effortless clean-out when the cook is done. The legendary Hasty Bake convection is achieved with our signature-shaped hood and precise vent placement, circulating heat and smoke around your meat, rather than billowing up a chimney.
With just a little practice, burn times can exceed 18 hours with little to no adjustment. Step up your game with the all-new Hasty Bake Roughneck Powder-Coated barrel smoker.

I would have given this 5 stars if not for the lack of a rail for the fire box. Having the fire box sit on top of the ash tray is a minus. It actually interferes with the tin foil on the ash tray staying put as you move them back. You can leave the ash tray on the floor, but a little railing for the fire box to ride on would make this perfect. Then I put the ash tray in and forget it while I move the fire box in or out. Otherwise, perfect smoker for its size.
Love it so far. The only thing is the newer heat deflector is a pain in the ass to use. Who ever designed it needs to go back to the drawing board. Other than that cooks great held temps awesome and great ribs, pork butt, and brisket! But for real call me about a new design that isn’t so stumbling and bumbling with the heat deflector. If this was better it’s 5 stars all day
Bought my first HB product - the black powder-coat Roughneck - and it arrived on Friday. The exceptionally high quality is evident. Have already cooked twice and, although we are still “getting to know each other,” so far, so good… though my Pit Barrel keeps looking at me like a jilted ex-lover.
Arrived damage waiting to hear back from HB.
The hasty bake barrel neck smoker is amazing So far we’ve done chicken and we smoked a pork butt for 14 hours the other day that was absolutely amazing. I was really quite surprised at how well it cooked and smoked. It is my new go to smoker but highly recommend anybody that’s on the fence about this to get one. You won’t be disappointed.
